Last months tips were about the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol. Driving also poses a danger if a driver is distracted and does not pay attention to the road.

Countless lives have been lost through negligence. Many are innocent victims. Family members who lose loved one's this way suffer from grief the rest of their lives. Children are maimed or orphaned or die. Adults, too, suffer various degrees of injuries that include paralysis and death.

Families may lose a parent who is the breadwinner. The surviving parent is left to be the sole earner as well as play the role of 2 parents. A major reason for such serious and fatal accidents is not paying attention. Distractions may be due to:

  • Not watching the road and bumping into the car ahead
  • Not watching the signs, such as driving into a one way street, causing a head on crash
  • Texting
  • Talking on the phone
  • Eating
