Chevra-A Delicious Snack

Chevra is a very popular and delicious Indian snack. It is made with a variety of ingredients, combined to produce a tasty appetizer, that is very difficult to stop eating. The ingredients are often fried in oil. This does contribute to a high calorie intake and for the cook, it is time consuming.

Preshana Singh's recipe uses just 1 tablespoon of oil and it is made in a slow cooker. This not only saves cooking time but your waistline as well. That is why I was so intrigued by her recipe. Preshana kindly shared her recipe to be included in this website.

She is originally from South Africa and has been living in the United Kingdom for the last 10 years. Preshana taught Home Economics/Food Technology for 17 years, 7 of those in the UK. She is currently a full time mum to daughters aged 5 and 2 years. Her interests are cooking, baking, decoupage, paper craft and embroidery. She just rediscovered knitting and is presently learning how to crochet.

Preshana regularly shares her recipes of delicious looking food, cakes and cookies on Facebook. I do hope you try her Slow Cooker Chevra.
