We are now well into the New Year. Let's hope that this is a Happy Year for all of us. Many of you will be making desserts, as that is part of the way we entertain and show a bit of love and happiness.

Sometimes we may not access to a scale to measure ingredients, but really do want to try that delicious dessert. Well here are some measures that may help you create that perfect dessert after all.

This list is a continuation of the past 2 months of tips on Substitutions in a Hurry and Handy Measures for Fruit. It is part of a recently found full page newspaper guide, published in Star Tribune in Minneapolis St. Paul on Thursday, January 11, 2001.

Chocolate Chips 6 oz. 1 cup
Chocolate Wafers, crushed 9 oz. 2 & 1/3 cups
Cocoa Powder, unsweetened 8 oz. 3 cups
Coconut (flaked or shredded) 7 oz. bag 2& 2/3 cup
Gelatin(unflavored) ¼oz; (1 envelope) 2 teaspoons
Honey 1-lb. 1& 1/3 cup
Marshmallows 10-oz. bags 40 large
Marshmallows 1 large 10 miniature
Sugar, brown packed 1-lb 2¼ cups
Sugar, granulated 1-lb. 2¼ cups
Sugar, powdered, unsifted 1-lb. 3¾ cups
Vanilla Wafers, crushed 12-oz. box 3¾cup crumbs
Whipped topping Frozen 8-oz. tub 3 cups
